A message from Nationwide Fuels about COVID-19
The government has classified oil suppliers and distributors as essential services. Please be aware that we are dealing with far higher demand than usual and we are doing everything we can to ensure the safety of our staff and our customers. These circumstances may lead to minor delays to your deliveries, but please rest assured that our teams across the UK are working hard to keep the nation fuelled and powered through these troubled times.
What we’re already doing
In line with government guidance, we will be prioritising deliveries to the following:
- Emergency services
- Nursing, residential and care homes
- Essential retail sites
We have directed our drivers to keep contact with third parties to a minimum to help limit the impact of COVID-19. For the foreseeable future, our drivers will not be asking customers to sign their handheld device to confirm delivery/receipt.
As all of our tanker deliveries are metered, the quantity of fuel delivered is automatically printed on the invoice – this will act as an alternative proof of delivery.
Whilst we understand that some of our customers may typically require a proof of delivery signed by a member of staff, this will not be possible until further notice.
We will assume that you are happy to proceed on this basis and waive any relevant contractual requirement for a signed proof of delivery if you order fuel from us while these measures are in place.
Working from home where possible
Our offices remain open for key workers and staff are working from home where possible to provide support and advice to our customers.
We are continually reviewing our operations in line with the ever-changing situation and guidance from the government and health professionals.
